Pictures at an Exhibition @ the High!

The High Museum, HIghlands-Cashiers Chamber Music Festival and the Emory Chamber Music Society of Atlanta present:

 

Saturday, April 21st at 3 PM in Atlanta, Ga.

The international award-winning Vega String Quartet and bassist Emory Clements perform Mussorgsky's great masterpiece in a special transcription for String Quintet surrounded by art in the Robinson Atrium of the High Museum on Saturday April 21st at 3 PM. Special artwork by the young Ukrainian Master Elena Vizerskaya will also be on display. Mix and mingle with the musicians after the performance! Free with Museum entrance fee.

"Art Tour"

Sunday, April 22nd 2-5 PM
Park Place, Atlanta, GA

An art tour of three private, exceptional art collections will take place on Sunday, April 22nd. Anna and Hays Mershon, Barbara Guillaume, and Elsie and Jim Henderson are opening their homes for this special tour. A light reception will be offered at the last home of the tour. Valet parking will be available. Tickets are available through the HCCMF office at 828-526-9060 or hccmfnc@gmail.com. Price: $50. Limited to 40 attendees.



"The Art of Music"

Carolina Gallery June 23 – July 28

New artwork, all with a Musical theme, created by some of the area's finest artists will be on display from Saturday June 23rd until July 28th at Carolina Gallery in Highlands. Original works will be silently bid upon over the course of the exhibition to support HCCMF. Special events will include a Grand Opening reception with wine and hors d'oeuvres on June 23rd, a concert by the internationally renowned American String Quartet on July 12th with a reception hosted by Marcia Weber, and a Salon on July 25th, hosted by Michael and Martha Dupuis, featuring the Vega Quartet. The Salon will be the only ticketed event at $75/person – tickets available through HCCMF at 828-526-9060 or hccmfnc@gmail.com. All other events are open to the public including the closing of this exhibition.

 

Listed are some of the regional artists who have generously donated their work for the silent auction running through of the month of July;

The closing of the silent auction exhibition will be July 29th with a reception from 7-9 PM where the winners of the highest bids will be announced.

Family Concert and Ice Cream Social

A free Family Concert featuring a performance of "The Pied Piper of Hamelin" for viola, piano and narrator with Lois Reitzes, narrator, Yinzi Kong, viola and William Ransom, piano. Perfect for audiences of all ages! The concert will be followed by an Ice Cream Social sponsored by Kilwins.

After the summer Festival is over, come back to the mountains for a completely different experience – beautiful Leaf Season! The Argus Quartet, Graduate Quartet in Residence at Juilliard School In New York City, will give programs for Highlands, Blue Ridge and Summit schools, Chestnut Hill Retirement Center and a public, ticketed concert on Saturday evening October 13th at 5 PM in Highlands at the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation.
